A late CONGRATULATIONS to the the Torres Family, that is a family of 3 now. Team Torres has added a new addition, Joseph Emanuel Torres who was born on December 25, 2016. He wanted to say hello early to mom and dad and he came into the world at a nice 4lb. 14oz. and 17 in. Congratualtions Amy and Jose, we can't wait to get some baby Optimist cuddles. |

The first week of boys basketball was canceled due to the inclimate weather. Games will be resume next week and will be on Saturdays in January and February 2017.

A call for STEM volunteers are needed. There are several opportunities to be a part of STEM events in the Rolla area and they need volunteers for the events that come up. Sat., FEB 18 at the Rolla Jr. High, they will be having their FIRST Tech Challenge from 7am-5pm. Also on Sat., FEB. 18 at Missouri S&T, they are holding their VEX Robotics Competition from 7am-5pm. Sat., MARCH 4 Missouri S&T will be holding thei FIRST Tech Challenge from 7am-5pm. |

This years Oratorical Contest will be held at Rolla Middle School in the Music Room on Tuesday, January 24 at 6pm. We hope that many Optimists will come to show support to all the kids that have worked so hard to be a part of this Contest. |
