We have many ways that you can become a part of the Clipper City Co-op. Pictured above is one of Cath and Megans Outreach Meetings. Aug 5 is this months meeting, at Manitowoc Coffee, 4pm. This is a great way to meet 2 Steering Committee members and get a feel for what the Co-op is doing and how you could be a part of it. Check the calendar on our web page for upcoming meetings. Do you have a special interest or an area that you feel more comfortable in? Like getting people together in casual groups for fun and info? Consider a House Party and being on the House Party Committee. Are you a Seed Member and feel passionate about getting others to understand the importance? The Seed Member Committee would be great for you! Do you prefer to be behind the scenes? Publicity or Social Media Committees made be just the ticket. If you like fun and meeting new people, consider volunteering for an event, the Farmers Market or even the Volunteer Committee. We have something that will fit everyone! And we are really in need of some help. Our Steering Committee does all it can and we get wonderful support from our Facebook Friends and our Seed Members - but we can use some BODIES!! So consider just giving an event a try - or having a small House Party - get your feet wet and I promise you will have fun and want to dive in!! |

Seems a good time to restate what our whole goal is, as a community Co-op. This is from our power point presentation that we use at parties, listening sessions, anywhere we want to let people know what we are about. We worked for a long time on our Mission Statement - in a nutshell, this is what we are striving for, what our end goal is. Join us!! |

More Ways We Reach Out to the Community Amber (a Steering Committee member) was part of the group that braved the weather to man a table at Two River's Community Care Day. Talking to people, answering questions, getting more emails from interested people - the day turned out to be a wet one, but it started out with smiles :) And we had the Fender Blender from Heathiest Manitowoc at the Cycling for Sustainability event - again, reaching out to people who may not have heard about us, sharing our passion for the Clipper City Co-op! Do you have an event or know of something coming up that would be a good fit with the Co-op? Let us know - come to the monthly Outreach Meeting with Cath and Megan - send us an email - post on FaceBook. We can't always do every event out there, but with some help from volunteers (hint hint) we can be as much of a presence as possible! |

We are continuing to gather Seed Members for the Co-op - our goal is 100 by the end of 2015. What is a Seed Member? Someone who believes in the Clipper City Co-op becoming a reality and wants to help us attain that dream! You plant your 'seed' by paying $200 now - this is equity paid to the Co-op, to be used by the Steering Committee for expenses. The Seed money is actually a share and when the Co-op opens it's doors you will already be an owner/member of the Clipper City Co-op. We need Seed Members to show community support and financially, we need Seed Members to help us fund the feasibility study. This is the next important step in becoming the Clipper City Co-op! |

Have you had a House Party yet? This is a great way to get the Clipper City Co-op message out, get any and all questions answered, get together with people who feel the same way you do about local, sustainability, the community, healthy food.... A Party can be big or small - a group of friends, workers, neighbors - at your house, in a garden, the social room in a hospital - any where that people can gather. Let us know if you are willing to have a House Party and we can help you make it happen! |

Make sure you share this newsletter with anyone you think may be even slightly interested! You just never know - they may end up being a Board Member! We LOVE hearing feedback, ideas, questions - it lets us know that someone out there is listening to us ramble!! So keep it coming - email, Facebook, come to a meeting or event. It is all good.
