We rented a bus and traveled 4 hours North to the Volta region to rehearse and give them a "touring experience".
On the second day we arrived at children's foster home for the performance. Africa TV arrived to broadcast the show. It astounds me to know these kids have only played instruments for two years!
What a great flute solo by Bismark the lead flute player.
Pictured above, Carol Palms and Ai Yumiba teach western music theory to the Pan African Youth Orchestra. Both have left Ghana this weekend but they made a major impact on the children.
A monkey seen along the way to the Volta region as we traveled on the bus. These monkeys are living in a sanctuary and apparently they are very tame.

One of the fishing boats along Cocoa beach in Accra. We walked along the beach picking shells and decided to check out the local fishermen. We saw fresh octopus (below) and small sardines that are laid out on the sand and dirt to dry during the day. Carol made the mistake of stepping on them and heard it from one of the fisherman. She didn't notice the path.
One of the busier streets in Accra. A view from the front seat.(above)
