Canadian Legion Youth Championship results are among the best ever!

London Legion athletes competing for London Legion T&F Alliance or Team Ontario produced amazing results at the 2016 Canadian Legion Youth T&F Championship.

One of the highlights of this year's meet was the final of the Youth Boys 110m hurdles.  London Legion athletes Liam Mather and Matthew MacGillivray won the Gold and Silver Medal respectively. Their photofinish result, showed left was the highlight of the meet.  As part of Team Ontario, Matt won 2 silver medals in the 4X100 & 4X400m relays.

Our women hurdlers were equally as impressive. Kaylyn Hall won the silver medal in the YG 100m hurdle final competing with a tough field of youth hurdlers.  Olivia Gee was the only first year Midget Girls athlete to make the 80m final.  She placed 6th in both the 80m and 200m hurdle finals

Brooke Overholt competed in a strong field of youth girls 400m hurdlers finishing 7th in Canada.  She was 2nd amoung first year youth athletes.

Mikenna Vanderheyden had a very successful weekend on the track in St. Therese Quebec winnng the silver medal in the YG 1500m and placing 5th, second overall for first year youth girls in the 3000m.  She also placed 9th in the high jump.  As part of Team Ontario, Mikenna anchored the Gold Medal winning team in the 4X400m Relay.

Eric Pierce cracked the top 10 in the YB Triple Jump and was only 10cm from first place in the YB High Jump.

Distance athlete Eric Hill placed 20th in the MB 200m final.
