CHYBA celebrated Global YouthBuild Day on Friday, April 27th. Our staff and students took over the orchard for People of Progress. They mowed, raked, and prepared to plant additional apple trees in the orchard.

YouthBuild programs around the world participated in the advocacy day by holding events and organizing service projects in their communities.

YouthBuild Days

Four CHYBA students were chosen to represent our YouthBuild program in Sacramento for California YouthBuild Days. CHYBA joined over 150 YouthBuild students from programs across California. Students attended workshops on leadership, public speaking, and community engagement. They also met with Assembly Member, Brian Dahle and Senator Hueso on Capitol Hill to advocate for legislation to create jobs for opportunity youth in California.

We are thankful for the donations we received that enabled our students to travel to Sacramento and take advantage of a life changing opportunity to develop as young leaders for our community.

Mentors Wanted
