Focus on... seasonal affective disorder (SADs)
As the nights begin to draw in and we lose the light, does this mean that you suffer more with low mood? Is SADs (seasonal affective disorder) a problem for you? I have a number of tools that may help!
Many off us suffer from the blues and an increase in depression and pain during the winter months; commonly referred to as SADs. We can slow down a bit in the winter, have less energy and for many it can be difficult to break out of this cycle.
Many of the issues can be due t.o an imbalance in the body as exposure to sunlight decreases, affecting hormonal changes. Fresh air and sunshine are vital to good health and with the shorter hours of daylight in the winter and the rotten weather it can be a challenge to get enough sun.
First of all, I would recommend topping up with a good quality Vitamin D supplement. I stock Vitamin D3 from Nature's Sunshine so just get in touch to get yours.
Secondly, consider regular Reiki or massage sessions. Or even better... a combination of the two!
Both Reiki and massage are known to help reduce pain, alleviate anxiety and calm the symptoms of depression. It can help to reduce our feelings of stress and produces a deep feeling of calm. With this in mind Reiki and massage could be helpful for those of you who feel you suffer from SADs.
