It's been an exciting month here at PixiMaths HQ! I have launched plenty of KS2 resources, including: odd and even numbers, column addition and subtraction and an introduction to inequalities. Please let me know if any of these are inappropriate for KS2 or if there are any extra lessons I can add to the collection.
I need to say a huge thank you to all your lovely users who have pressed the 'donate' button at PixiMaths. I hadn't realised how much this website and its content is used and appreciated. Thank you!
Earlier this month, I wrote a blog called 'Can we do something FUN tody?' Hopefully this may give you some mathsy ideas for the last few weeks of term.
As well as…
TES Awards and MathsConf10
An exciting weekend summarised in a not-so-short blog post.
This carousel consists of 4 activities, with each expected to take 10-15 minutes hopefully. Each activity comes with instructions to enable students to be relatively self-sufficient (hopefully!). These will need adapting depending on the prior attainment of your intake. Please let me know what you think. Activities include 'make a die', 'pictograms', 'directed numbers codebreaker' and 'patterns and sequences'.
Yes, you read correctly! AS teaching resources to be ready for September this year. They will cover the basic teaching points to set students up for the nitty-gritty exam qestions provided by whichever board you choose.
Math Mistakes features a range of answers to maths questions posted by Michael Pershan, a middle school and high school math teacher from NYC, but sent in by readers of the site. Each selection of students' work is discussed in the comments section in terms of what the assumptions are behind this work and what the next steps could be. An excellent form of CPD to help you identify possible misconceptons when you next teach that topic.
