"Reflections on Pine" is a four day event to commemorate the civil rights movement in Cambridge, Maryland. Fifty years ago was the Long Hot Summer when communities across the country erupted in the race riots. Cambridge was one of those communities that burned. At the gala dinner on Friday, July 21st, we are honoring three individuals from our community that were part of the movement and one that is a product of it; Harriet Tubman, Gloria Richardson Dandridge, Fred Stanley, and our current mayor who is the first female and first African-American to hold the office, Victoria Jackson-Stanley.
