Invigorating and energising Thai massage!

Thai massage honestly is my favourite form of massage and I have had many of these in Thailand.  You will find this technique is as good as in Thailand with the only difference being that it happens on the table instead of on the floor.

Described as an ancient healing art, it combines acupressure with yoga like stretches to bring balance and harmony to your whole being.  The stretches help to keep the body supple and flexible, and in Thailand this fusion of massage and yoga is sometimes called ‘yoga for lazy people’!

The deep compression work is so invigorating and very energising. Thai massage works the body very differently to Western massage techniques.  Table Thai massage is based on Eastern traditions with elements of Western massage techniques.   Whereas traditional Thai massage is carried out on a futon or mattress on the floor, this Western version is carried out on a massage table - just like the sessions you're used to enjoying at Believe in Wellbeing.

Don't worry if you think you're really stiff - your session will be adpated to you and will work within your natural range of movement.  The stretches incorporated within Thai massage will help to keep you supple and flexible.

The aim of a Thai massage session is to balance energies by working on the body's 'sen' lines - the Thai perception of the body's energy lines. Thai massage is based on unblocking stagnant energy that causes dis-ease and the stretching techniques have amazing effects - opening pathways for energy to flow.

So what makes Thai massage different? Well, firstly - it is done FULLY CLOTHED (so be sure to wear loose clothing for your session) and no oils are used. A lot of stretching is incorporated and is great if you feel you are very stiff or inflexible or you have areas that you would like to open up.

Thai Massage helps to:

  •  maintain a healthy immune system
  •  prevent illness and disease
  •  reduce stress and anxiety
  •  treat aches and pains
  •  aid the cleansing of the lymphatic system
  •  strengthen and tone muscles
