Monday, March 20

 

It's officially Spring! Celebrate the new season while the kids enjoy one last day of no school with a FREE Italian Ice at Rita's Italian Ice. For the little ones, enjoy special story times at Mirror Lake Library. Pre-Readers (ages 3-5) begin at 10:15am and Toddlers (ages 1-3) at 11:00am. At 6pm, children ages 5 to 12 are invited to Adventures in Art at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library to create crafty collages.

Tuesday, March 21

 

Explore music with your young children at Noisemakers' Punkertown starting at 10:00am. Cost is only $5 per family for this open-format class. After school, take the whole family to a free puppet show at St. Petersburg North Community Library. "I Love My Socks!" begins at 6:30pm.

Wednesday, March 22

 

Bring your teen and tween eco-warriors to the Young Environmentalists Info Session at Gulfport Public Library from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Speakers will provide information about the challenges that face the environment and the ways in which young people can get involved. After work, parents can relax at Green Bench Brewing Co. while children in grades K-6 participate in Challenge Island. The two-hour event challenges teams to build waterproof sailboats that float while the kids also learn about Poseidon and Greek mythology. Cost is $15 per child.

Thursday, March 23

 

Introduce your preschoolers to the wonders of the natural and cultural world at Wee-Time @ Weedon starting at 10:30am. The activity is free but registration closes 24 hours in advance. Looking for the perfect class to get your child started in dance? Try a free hip-hop class for beginners at PLAY Performing Arts Project's new studio at 5pm.

Friday, March 24 

 

Make Your Own Slime at Growing Up! From 10:30am until 11:30am, kids can make and take home their own fun slime. Cost is $4 per child. All supplies are included. After dark, catch a free Friday show at the St. Petersburg Planetarium and Observatory. The Stars of Spring begins at both 7:00pm and 8:15pm.

Join Ruthie's Folk School at Boyd Hill ESA Osprey's Room for Buzz Off! Keep Bugs Away Naturally! starting at 12:30pm. This class invites children ages 6 to 13 and parents to make your own bug spray from unique herbs, explore plants to grow in your garden and make beneficial critter habitats for your yard. Cost is $20 per person.
