Hope you are enjoying your summer so far and getting lots of time to ride. The motorcycle event season is in full swing and oVc’s intrepid webmaster has attended several 2-wheel gatherings this month and writes about them in this month’s oVc Chronicles starting with the annual New Liskeard Bikers Reunion held each Canada Day weekend.

New Liskeard Bikers Reunion

Now in its 15th year, the Biker’s Reunion is dedicated to raising funds for the region’s cancer care facilities. The Phippen family has been the driving force behind this event and has shepherded it from a small gathering of a handful of friends and family to a must-attend affair with thousands of bikers making the trek north up Highway 11 for this three-day celebration.

Sadly, it was announced that this would be the last year of this special event that has now raised over $5 million dollars.

Lucan Baconfest

OK, this event was billed as “Everything Bacon and Bikes” so you know we had to stop by and see what this was all about! I mean really, bacon!! Bikes!! What’s not to like, eh?

Wasaga Beach Rally

Only in its 2nd year, the Wasaga Beach Bike Rally is rapidly becoming one of southern Ontario’s fastest growing events. This weekend long affair boasted over 30,000 bikes on Saturday alone as riders took in the many sights, musical acts, and vendors all gathered on Wasaga’s main beach.

Be careful where you park, though because you could easily find yourself blocked in as you can see here:

Note the big Harley sidecar rig. Completed by oVc last fall, this is rolling testament to oVc’s engineering prowess. Here’s a better look:

Customer Corner

It’s been an exciting month at oVc as we’ve finally received our first shipment of CCMs when earlier this month 9 CCMs showed up at our front door:

oVc is Canada’s first CCM dealer and by day’s end only two remained. Congratulations to Steve and Ian on being the first two Canadian CCM owners!

Our new friend Sean from Alberta was on his way to New Brunswick when he encountered a bit of a problem in northern Ontario:

With the help of a friendly trucker, Sean was able to get his rig to oVc where Ken and the boys soon had him back on the road. Safe riding, Sean!

Rookie Ural owners Alex and Anne are enjoying their new Ural and even the neighbours are dropping by to check out their new ride:

Mods n’ Rockers Festival

Don’t forget that this year’s Mods n’ Rockers festival this August 19th and 20th! oVc will be in attendance on Saturday and we hope to see you there!
