“You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that by His poverty He could make you rich.” -- 2 Corinthians 8:9
In Chapter 8 of his second letter to the Corinthians, Paul exhorts us to give generously and eagerly to those in need. “And give according to what you have,” he writes in verse 12. This, Paul says, is to be done so that when we eventually come to have unmet needs, others will sustain us with their gifts.
