This just in! A recent donation brought in a beautiful array of silk jacquards, sanded charmeuse, and crêpe de chine, including a variety of vintage rayons, challis and prints (a sampling pictured to the right). Another donation provided us with yards of wool yarn suitable for weaving (a sampling pictured below), and little lots of hand-dyed fibers that would be great for artsy knitting projects. Come, visit us at the shop, and bring a friend! |

Project Linus Comes to SewGreen@Rochester! Do you enjoy quilting? Do you want to learn how to sew a blanket for a child in need? Join us every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we use our sewing skills to make something comforting for a child to hold and treasure. Materials will be provided. Project Linus donates homemade security blankets to children who are going through difficult circumstances, from moving into a new foster home to receiving cancer treatments. Participants through SewGreen@Rochester will make quilts for children using materials donated to our shop, giving of what we've been given to cheer the lives of children. Look! There, in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superhero Camp! We think Rochester needs some new superheros. Join us at SewGreen@ROC for our spring break Superhero Camp. We will help you identify your super-power, and you will use materials from the shop to create your very own superhero costume, complete with accessories.
Don't know how to sew? Don't worry! That's our super-power, and we can't wait to share it with you. If you are 10 years-old or older, come join us at the shop, Monday through Thursday, March 28 through 31, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Two New Evening Programs Continue! Tuesday evenings, from 5 to 7 p.m., continue to advance your sewing/dressmaking skills with What's with this Sewing Pattern? and a Draping / Flat Patterning Workshop. Learn everything there is to know about what to do with the sewing pattern you are interested in, and how to make it best fit you! Most of our classes and camps are just $10 for two hours of instruction. Scholarships are always available.
Wednesdays evenings, from 5 to 7 p.m., join Sew We Gather at SewGreen@Rochester. Bring a project, or find a project here! This is a time to get together for social sewing in our fully-equipped well-lit work space. It's free! Bring some friends!
We welcome knitters and crocheters at all times, but especially on Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. Instruction is always available during those hours -- for free! If you've always wanted to learn to knit or crochet, stop by for materials, a lesson, and a chat with our community of knitters and crocheters.
