American Canyon Arts Foundation, October 2018

Filipino-American History Month Celebration

This Saturday, come celebrate with us the contributions of the Filipino-American Community.  The FilAmClub of American Canyon, along with the Arts Foundation, will host their annual Filipino-American History Month, October 6, from 10am to 3pm at the Community Gym, 100 Benton Way.

There will be contests for young and old; dance performances and exhibits. This is a free event for the entire community.

Last year, the event was canceled due to the fires in Napa and Sonoma counties.  Funding for the event came in part from grants received by the City of American Canyon and the Arts Council Napa Valley.

On November 10, from 3-6pm, the annual Multi-Cultural Event will be at the Community Gym in American Canyon.  This is a free event, sponsored by Arvind Nischal's Helping Hand Indo American and the Arts Foundation.

There will be several performances reflecting our Filipino, Indian, and Latino cultures.  This year we have included a performance by a local Jewish Folk Dance group.  Food and "snacks" will be provided.

The Arts Foundation received a grant from the City of American Canyon to support arts and culture in American Canyon.  This year we decided to focus on working with an existing program and build upon it.

Youth Art Show will be rescheduled for next Spring

In September, President Patti Krueger learned she will be on a job assignment for the next four months.  Other board members are in the middle of political campaigns. The end result is we decided to reschedule the Youth Art Show for next Spring.  Stay Tuned for more.
