Office Security: Who got the keys to the Jeep? Missy Elliott raises a good question: Do you know who has keys to your office? Every building in town has cases of theft, but when it turns out that a key was used to access your space, it makes you rethink office security and key accountability. |
|
|
Ask your property management for a list of all holders of master-keys and keys or keycards issued to your space. After a recent theft at our office, we learned that 31 people had access to 20 keys that could access our suite...not including our own keys. Luckily for us, the theft was minimal, and the criminal was caught. The lesson learned from the event was simply that, besides your employees, janitors, and security, there are keys issued to contractors, engineers, and other vendors from time to time. So just like Hillary's gmail, remember that nothing is 100% secure in your office. |
