Mission. Estonia. Worship.

Dear MEW Supporters,

You have received this MEW NEWS, because I am greatly encouraged by the support of my friends, church, family and by other God-sent people in the middle of a regular day My wish with this newsletter is for you to know, I couldn't have come this far without you!

So, thank you! for listening, letting me talk, write and post about MEW.

MEW stands for Mission Estonia Worship. The vision of MEW:

to inspire, inform and facilitate churches in Estonia to be the worshippers we are called to be and believe in the impact of that.

Let's start from the beginning

I have been working on the MEW since January 2016, since I believe God is calling me to be a missionary, in worship ministry, to Estonian churches. Estonia is the country I am from, and the Netherlands became the country I moved to year 2012 to grow in a discipleship school called MCAN, and to be part of the community in a local church Agapè Amsterdam. There I became a piano player in a worship band, became a worship leaders intern, then a worship leader with them, and from there, became responsible of the music directing. It has been wonderful journey through many challenges.

However since last year, God is reminding me about the most atheistic country in the world, also known as a nation who sang themselves free - ESTONIA. God is calling me from international life back to where I was born: to use things I have learn and become a tool to help the singing nation to become a worshipping one: starting from the worship ministry in the churches. He is sending me on a mission.

I took three friends and co-worshipers from Agapé church and went to serve in Estonia. 14 days with 9 worship sessions, 5 meetings about worship minisry in Estonia, and experiencing God speak and move. Opportunities rose with more invitations for September.

Have you heard of churches where there are three pastors?
Switch that around and meet with one of the pastors in Estonia, who is pastor of three churches! Some pastors don't even get paid, but they have a full time job. Those who are full time pastors have hard time finding volunteers who are willing to serve.

Now, let's imagine how worship leaders prepare for their ministry:

I want to help Estonian worshipers organize the course: Worship Central; to build their knowledge, experience, and their teams, while finding answers, both theological and practical, about worship. While gathering teams for the course, it will help build network of worshipers for help and inspiration. I am currently working on a database for worship songs, because resource Estonia does not have one. Besides that, I will meet with the teams, visit worship practices for help when needed, and serve them to help them lead others.

There have been many things happening. The encouragi

ng part is that the church I've been part of and serving the last years Agapé Amsterdam has recognized my calling and has decided to send me in August 2017. Amazingly, God has put me together with people who see the same needs in Estonian churches, and would like to help me to work towards the vision of MEW. KUS - Tartu Theological Seminary - will be my partner, and already we are working on starting two Worship Central courses in Tartu and Tallinn, first on the 10th of September 2017.

As you know, missionary work is only possible through the support of churches and people. IF you would like to help me more to build Estonian worship ministry and partner with me to make it possible, there are couple of things you could do:

  • I am looking people who would keep me and the ministry in prayer. With the short mission trip already, we all experienced that it is extremely important to have people backing up those on a mission
  • People who help me to translate (Dutch-English-Estonian) different materials for the mission and for the newsletters/updates
    • People who would like to visit Estonia and to come serve for a weekend/week (teach, lead worship, be part of worship, etc)
  • Tougher one to ask: to be able to fully commit myself to mission, I need financial partnership to live, work on worship ministry, travel between churches and communities, have materials and provide the best teachers and leaders possible to the worship teams,  I need monthly and annual supporters
  • People who could help to share the vision of MEW

If you would like to help me with anything listed above, then please contact me and know that I am very grateful to have you as the partner of MEW.

What happens till August?

Now, I have 4 months left to figure out the details to moce to Estonia in the end of August. Till then, I am looking for supporters, working on the first

worship courses in September, lead/play/train worship ministry in

Agapé Amsterdam, and working full time (for a car, apartment etc).

I keep praying that I will find people here and there, who are passionate to see Estonia in heartfelt worship!
