Monday, November 21

 

It's the first day of Thanksgiving break for Pinellas County schools! Check out one of these fun day camps open when schools are closed: 

  • November School's Out Camp at Great Explorations
  • Fall Break Camps at makeme
  • Fall Camp at Practically Pikasso
  • Fall Camps at Boyd Hill
  • Thanksgiving Holiday Camps at Academy of Performance Arts
  • Thanksgiving Camp at Highland Recreation Complex
  • Thanksgiving Grossology Camp at McGough Nature Center

Tuesday, November 22

 

Fill your day with events for all ages at one of the St. Petersburg Public Libraries. S.P.A.R.K Pre-Readers (ages 3-5) begins at 10:15am at Johnson Community Library. At 3:30pm, head to St. Petersburg Main Library for Builders and Bricks followed by Pokemon League from 4pm until 6pm. End the day with Family Story Time at North Community Library at 6:30pm.

 

Wednesday, November 23

 

Join Seminole Community Library for Baby Time with babies 18 months and under. This twenty-minute lap-sit program begins at 10am and features books, fingerplays, songs, bubbles and playtime. Later, visit Growing Up for Mommy Time, Movie Time from 12:30pm until 2pm where Pirate Fairy will be playing in the Learning Center. Remember to check all other regularly-scheduled activities for closings.

Thursday, November 24

 

Happy Thanksgiving! While the turkey is in the oven, catch the Annual Crescent Heights Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade begins at 10am and will feature a multitude of floats, vintage cars, decorated bicycles and strollers, dog walkers and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Friday, November 25

 

Ring in the holiday season with the City of St. Petersburg Tree Lighting Ceremony and Illuminated Park Displays in North Straub Park. Activities begin at 5pm and include onstage entertainment, interactive games and food concessions. Bring a  blanket and see Mayor Rick Kriseman flip the switch at 7:30pm.  

 

Saturday, November 26

 

If Black Friday isn't for you but buying local is, shop small this Small Business Saturday. Show your support to the nearly 130 local businesses, artists, food trucks and non-profits at Shopapalooza Part 2. This annual festival is located at South Straub Park from 10am until sunset. At 5 pm, welcome Santa to Sundial St. Pete with musical guests, breathtaking lights and free photos. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more local deals and specials.

Sunday, November 27

 

Relax and unwind after the holiday week by catching a free movie or two. A Jurassic Park double feature will be playing at the St. Petersburg Main Library beginning with Jurassic Park at 1pm and followed by Jurassic World at 3:15pm. Or head to Barbara S. Ponce Library for a 2pm showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Harry Potter-themed games and refreshments will begin at 1:30pm. Registration for this free event ends November 21.
