London Legion high school track (sprints, hurdles & jumps) athletes will have practices Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (10 AM)  this week.  Next Tuesday is our last practice.  Practice is at 4:30 PM.  

Charlotte Prouse places 6th at IAAF U20 (World Junior) T&F Championship
 
Charlotte Prouse placed 6th at the World Junior T&F Championship held in Poland last week.
 
Charlotte's 3000m SC result smashed the Canadian Junior record and was also an Olympic qualifying time.

IAAF World Junior T&F Championship Results

Sarah breaks 2 Ontario Elementary MTA Championship Records.  Team results best ever.
 
Sarah won 3 Ontario MTA Championship medals and set 2 Ontario Elementary T&F Records at the 2016 Ontario MTA T&F Championship held at York University.
 
The 400m record Sarah broke was held since 1972, and Sarah's time surpassed this long standing record by close to 2 seconds, in a time of 1:13.20 to earn the all time Elementary Girls 400m record for 8 yr old girls.
 
London Legion's team results were our best ever placing us the 6th best elementary team in Ontario.
 
There were so many personal best performances that it would take a separate newsletter to report.  Kaitlyn Koyanagi won 2 Gold Medals in near Ontario record time, and Skyler Bonk won 2 Bronze Medals in the 800m and 1500m. Julia Agostinelli won Bronze in the 800m as well.  Medalists on our male elementary team included Silver Medalist Colton Peters (100m) and Gold and Silver Medalists Justin Sanders and Ethan Aarts (1500m).

MTA Championship Results

AO BMY Championship results were amoung best ever 
 
London Legion athletes had a fantastic weekend of T&F at the 2016 AO BMY T&F Championship.
 
Olivia Gee won gold in the 200mh and bronze in the 80mh.  Liam Mather won Gold in the 110mh hurdles while Matt MacGillivray won bronze medals in both the 110mh and 400mh. Eric Pierce won Silver in the HJ and bronze in the TJ.
 
Our distance athletes performed equally as well with Kyle Koyanagi winning 2 Silver medals in the 800m, and 1200m, and Melanie Clayton placed 4th in the 800m.  Season Best performances were
