Pepe Storms Brazil

What an exciting opportunity for Pepe and HOME.  Pepe left for Brazil to study and work with Marlon Brito, the head of Project Grow!  This week marks the half-way point of his two month visit. After a rocky start trying to get out of the PAP airport he was finally safe in the hands of Pastor Marlon and his family. Pepe was whisked off to a two day prayer retreat - an intense and powerful way to begin his journey!  It was there that he had a constant encounter with God preparing him for the days to come.

Daily soccer practice, visiting churches, teaching small groups, sharing his testimony, and preaching have all been part of his activities.

Thursday night Pepe got onto social media to ask HOME team from Haiti to say a few words to the small group (below) he was about to teach.  Here was his response later that evening.

"Thank you guys for joining us in Brazil from USA. Small group was awesome! I talked about where we are from, how we separated from God, the need of a savior, and how to be saved. Three of them want to take the plunge in August when Pastor Marlon is having a Baptism ceremony."

One of Pepe's many first time experiences in Brazil included donating blood for a new friend in need.

"When you give blood you show love for someone. You help extend someone's physical life on earth. Jesus gave his blood once, for all, and we get eternal life if we accept the blood."

Keep Pepe in your prayers.  He will be preaching twice this week and attending additional leadership meetings.  Thanks to those of you who helped to make this trip possible.

Kid's Club Haiti

Pastor Jusme sent pictures of the Bonnette club with this message. "The craft is about Joseph's life. In this lesson I teach the kids God's plan for Joseph while he was with his father and his brothers. Even if he became a slave, a prisoner, God still keep working into his life."

The Bonnette club consistently has over 70 children participating on a weekly basis.  Teams recently delivered new benches to the club and contruction is in progess for a new table. No more crafts and coloring in the dirt!

Soccer Update

Bully has been taking Pepe's place as coach and mentor with the CAD soccer team while Pepe is in Brazil.  Bully helped organize and host a game day at CAD with all four HOME teams participating.  The tournament included snacks and juice for everyone.  Meyer HOME Team came out on top!

The first boxes of new soccer equipment from Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky arrived in Haiti this month!  The rest will be going down in July.  A huge thanks to Southeast and Emily Zehner for their support.  This equipment donation will also benefit Project Grow in Brazil!

Reaching far with all we have!

Alix's Announcements

We are happy to announce that Alix and Nancy are expecting their first child!  Please keep Nancy in your prayers.

Alix recently celebrated Day of the Child with 200 children in the Canaan community. The party included food, dancing & singing, drama sketches and poetry....and a male top model contest.

For two weeks Alix has also been working at CAD with Evanda Estes.  He and Bully were able to build new shelves for the library that is being assembled there. Thanks to St. Anne's for providing new books and shelves.  Thanks to Evanda for her time and love for the children.
