OPEN CALL!

submit video, performance, sound, and written works for LIGHTHOLE!

DEADLINE: NOV 24th

SHOW: DEC 4th

I am thrilled to announce the THIRD rendition of the New Media/Intermedia monthly, LIGHTHOLE! It’s THIRD manifestation will take place on Friday, DECEMBER 4th at B401 at the CopyCat Building. The event will be listed as part of the ALLOVERSTREET Art Walk taking place simultaneously.

The theme for this month's event will be:

IDOLS

We will be focusing on works that depict IDOLS: objects of adoration, representations of entities that influence how we define ourselves and carry our daily actions. Historically, IDOLS are depictions of gods, heroes, and archetypes acting as prescriptive reminders of how we should live our lives. Re-defining, subverting, re-imagining these moralistic emblems allows us to create more room for new identities, specially those identities that have been marginalized. This month's theme is a reaction and reflection on the acts of white supremacy enacted upon Pablo Machioli's La Madre de Luz at our building, the copycat.

This is our FIRST OPEN CALL so feel free to foward this invitation to any one you think would like to contribute to this upcoming show.

Please submit a video, sound, or intermedia-performance-art piece you wish to show at the event. I will be printing out a small JOURNAL with artist bios, piece descriptions and short blurbs. If you feel that you have a visual/ sonic/ bodly piece that complents this month's theme, IDOLS, click on the 'Visual Works' red button. The deadline for a completed submission is NOV 24th.

JOURNAL

I would like to extend the invitation for opportunity to submit WRITEN WORKS for the 'On Idols' section of the journal. If you feel a personal, historical, or linguistic connection the word IDOL and would like to make a separate contribution to the journal in any written form, please click on the 'Written Works' black button. The deadline for written works submission is NOV 24th.
