More infomation

We will be looking for volunteers to help make our Head Race a success, sadly it has been cancelled the past 2 years due to poor weather conditions so fingers crossed for good weather this year. Please put the date in your diary, SUNDAY 23rd FEBRUARY - family and friends are very welcome to come an help out on the day too. We will be looking for support on the water with the safety boats, and lots of support in the kitchen and club lounge prepping and selling sandwiches and food to hungry rowers and spectators. We will of course be looking for cake donations, the more the merrier, rowers love a bit of cake on race days. More details of where to sign up to help will follow next week, in the mean time if you would like to volunteer your services please email Jenny Gould at enquiries@christchurchrowingclub.co.uk Thank you.

RACING KIT

We are trying a new racing kit supplier this year - Termaxx, a number of other clubs used them last season and the feed back has been positive. The prices are certainly lower than our current supplier. However as this is a new company to us, for this season we are offering order windows with both Termaxx and Godfrey, you can choose which ever supplier you like, at the end of the season the club will make a decision as to which company we will stay with based on your feed back.

You can order kit from Today till Monday 4th March when the order windows will close and kit will be processed and made to complete the order. This process takes between 6-8 weeks, sometimes faster depending on other orders they had at the same time. In both cases you pay the company directly then they deliver the kit to the club as one collective order.

Cheack out the full range. If racing this year you will need to invest in either an AIO or Racing Vest, all other items are no essential.

Godfrey Order Window

For anyone new to racing - below are images of CRC racing kit, you will be required to wear one of these, it does not matter which AIO (all in One) or Vest, it comes down to personal preference. If unsure please ask other members in the club they will be happy to share advice and let you try some on. If racing before these orders are delivered the club does have some loan kit, but this is limited so please get in touch sooner rather than later.

This years South Coast Championship is being held in Southampton. The event costs around £20 000 to stage, so they are looking for sponsors. The club will be making a £100 donation. Below is a link to their letter in case any individual or business would also like to support the event.

Good news!! The new coastal four will be picked up from the builders next week on it's way to be fitted out at Neaves. The boat was built in conjunction with Ryde Rowing Club and based on, what is considered to be our quickest boat, the Mike Wall. Ryde took delivery of the first boat off the mold half way last year and it recorded it's first senior win in the Hants and Dorset Championship.

We are looking for ideas for boat names for this new coastal four and a few others, please contact your captains for more details or with any ideas you have.

Rowing Committee Update

Are you a roofer? The recent downpours have highlighted the need to have some work done on the Club House roof, we are currently gathering quotes, if you (or someone you know) would be interested in the work, please get in touch so we can arrange a site visit.
