THE THREE MONTHS EXPERIMENT
The People
The experiment took off with originally four Caretakers, one of which stepped out after two weeks.
In addition, four Sharetakers plus a baby joined, plus one adventurer.
One of the Sharetakers left us after two days.
Age-Range
The age of the participants ranged from four months to seventy years.
Remarkable, how easy it has been for all participants to integrate the infant who visibly enjoyed himself throughout. We interpret this as a hint that the “tribe” really is the healthy background for children, mainly because it’s always the adult most joyful who’s taking care. A child seems to register that. And the mother liked it too.
The Opting Out
Might be useful to point out that in both cases of opting out it has been the same person.
From our perspective this has been textbook structural mechanics:
The person tried what we so frequently find in groups, community, seminars, all the way to politics, watering down the endeavour to the lowest common denominator.
Yet, the overall setting and especially the King’s Card Game empowered a group that had clearly gathered to conduct a truly radical experiment, to emancipate with ease, and so he left.
A bit about the Content
Though it being an impossible task to summarize all that happened, you find some feedback of the participants here, plus a more extensive report in our blog.
A further report shall be pieced together during the Creative Co-Housing in Leipzig.
For our context it seems important to mention that apart from the working hypothesis and the King’s Card Game having shown practical relevance and lasting effect, all other tools that we have developed so far proved valuable over this considerable period of time.
In addition to “Spotlight”, “Fishtank” and “Free Forum” we developed “Dynamic Interaction”, a communication tool that soon became our preferred way to interact and exchange.
With the additional techniques of the “Silence Card”, “Clowns Nose” and “Three Feelings” we now hold a considerable and practically tested portfolio of true value. In addition has been helpful awareness on “need conscious language” as introduced by Rosenberg, and working with “Inner Instances”, namely the Judge and the inner children.
