let love shine

February is the month we dedicate to love.  Our children cut out pretty paper Valentines, our teenage girls hope for flowers or candy, and we look to our spouses for a special date night or thoughtful card.  Some of us are delighted while others are disappointed.

This year we’re offering a life changing alternative to perishable chocolate and toss away greeting cards.  How about helping to Turn on the Lights in Haiti!  Well, not all of Haiti, but at least at the new house on the HOME Land campus.

Rodney Jusme and his wife, Esther, have broken ground on their new home. This home will be the starting point and base for new HOME Team ministries in Mirebalais.  In addition to the house, the HOME Land soccer field is also being cleared by neighbors. The community is buzzing with anticipation about the HOME campus activities and new players are eagerly waiting to meet Jusme and Esther as their coaches, teachers, and mentors.

Just as we expect the light of Jesus to shine through this dedicated couple, we wish to shine some love and light into their new home as well.

Here is what we are still needing to fund:

    5 Solar panels   $1,475.00

           1 Inverter    $1,800.00

         6 Batteries    $1,170.00

How Can We Shine HIS Light?

If ten people commit to raising $450 each, we can turn on the lights…or….40 people can donate the equivalent of a Valentine dinner. What a gift of the heart! If you would like to make a donation in honor of your Valentine, send us the name and address so we can recognize your <img height="22" src="https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5e9922_bbb9a23c29c9407f8a31e2fc45adead6.png_256" width="22"> with a special card.

To date, electrical supplies have been donated by Conyers Ace Hardware, Lithonia Lighting, and Robert Hendricks.  On April 3rd, Joe Patango from First Christian Kissimmee will be traveling with his wife and an enthusiastic team from Impact Church in Hartwell, GA to do the electrical work, tiling and paint.

Let’s work together, in love, to get this couple moved into their new home.

Shine! Shine! Shine!

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.  Matthew 5:16 NLT

Your partnership with HOME is making a difference in Haiti. Each week, children learn with crafts, scripture memory, games, songs, and lessons offered through kid’s clubs. Recent studies include How to Become New (John), Juvenile Delinquency (1 Tim), and The Qualities of a Good Leader - Saul vs. David (Samuel). Our HOME soccer teams reach out in leadership and community service; their Christmas and New Year celebrations included picking up trash in their neighborhoods and planting flowers on church grounds. Young lives, families, and communities are being impacted in a powerful way!

Thank your for investing in the next generation of Kingdom workers.

Love. Shine. Lights.
