Izis "La Enfermera de La Salsa" is a singer and musician of Puerto Rican descent who has made her mark through her Latin and English music. Able to sing a wide range of musical genres from Disco, R&B, Blues to Country and of course Latin music, Salsa, Merengue Bachata, Spanish Rock, and Cumbia, she touches all audiences. She was born Isis Marie Nieves on August 28, 1981 in Puerto Rico and raised throughout the world due to her father’s military career. She began her musical endeavor by playing the flute and then stumbled upon her vocal abilities. Her musical roots are ones that can be seen currently in Puerto Rico through her various family members including her uncle, Modesto Nieves, cousin Monika Nieves and talented, internationally known cousin, Christian Nieves who has made his mark in music. Christian Nieves has played with artists such as Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, and Andres Jimenez just to name a few. Along with her musical talents, Izis "La Enfermera de La Salsa" serves as a US Officer in the US Army as a Registered Nurse. She is available for worldwide bookings at a venue near you! |

Izis "La Enfermera de La Salsa" has shared stages with legends like Rico Walker, Cita Rodriguez, Mario Ortiz Jr., Tito Puente Jr., Maelo Ruiz, Paquito Guzman, Latin Salsa sensation, Marlon Fernandez and opened for Salsa Legends such as Larry Harlow and upcoming salsero Frankie Ruiz Jr. Izis has also sang with several Latin bands directed by Don Pérignon, and Georgie Padilla, a percussion master who has played and recorded with Frankie Ruiz and La Sonora Ponceña, amongst other legendary salsa orchestras, to include Chino Nuñez. She also had the privilege of working with bass player, Martin Santiago, studio recording musician and 8 year touring bass player for Victor Manuelle. Last, but not least, she has sang with Fausto Cuevas, International percussion touring player for Jennifer Lopez and Stevie Wonder. |

In 2015, Izis "La Enfermera de La Salsa" returned to the recording studio to work on her first project of original music and a tribute to famous tropical singer La Lupe. La Lupe was a Cuban singer, well known as the Queen of Soul during the 1960’s in New York, with most recordings and greatest hits done with and by Tito Puente. Her original songs were giving to Izis by prominent music composer from Puerto Rico, Gil Francisco, who has written songs like Dile a Ella, sung by Victor Manulle, Dime Si Eres Feliz, recorded by Tito Rojas, Agua Pasada sung by Frankie Negron, and A Veces, sung by Domingo Quiñones. Arranger, Engineer, Producer, and Recording for this project is Mike Rivera, who has worked with artists like India, Victor Manuelle, Olga Tañón, Ednita Nazario, Luis Enrique, Tito Nieves, Shakira, Celia Cruz and Ricky Martin. |
