On the tour we will visit Montjuïc, one of the largest green areas of the city, the lung of Barcelona, and a great area to escape the tourist crowds while still enjoying some first-class-sightseeing and impressive views of the city. The hill of Montjuïc acts as the natural southern limit of the city, and it has hosted some very important events in our history, such as the 1929 World Fair and the 1992 Olympic Games. It is also home to some of the best museums in town (MNAC & Fundació Miró) The tour will continue in The Gothic Quarter, built over ancient Roman structures and home to the highest concentration of medieval architecture in Europe. Keep your eyes open for the most famous avenue of the Art Nouveau era, Passeig de Gràcia, and admire examples of Modernist-style buildings that were designed by Gaudi, Domenech i Montaner, Puig i Cadafalch and many other architects from the period. Gaze up at Gaudi's Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, and enjoy a private tour of his majestic masterpiece, La Sagrada Família In the evening a visit to the famous FC Barcelona Stadium and museum, the most visited museum in Catalonia. During the tour you will be shown around the visitor's changing rooms, the tunnel, the pitch, the press room...and the museum. MONTSERRAT MONASTERY & CATALAN WINE FULL DAY 8 h Discover the Holy Mountain of Montserrat, one of the most important landscapes in Catalonia. Founded in the 11th century it is located in a natural park about 50 km from Barcelona. Not only is Montserrat Monastery of significant religious importance but the natural beauty of the surrounding scenery is simply breath taking. The tour starts with a visit to the Monastery, exploring La Basilica where the patron saint of Catalonia “La Moreneta” (the black Madonna) is venerated in the Sanctuary.
