Blood Memory Project Update

Without further ado, I'd like to extend a heartfelt "Happy New Year!" to you and yours.

Okay, so we're already 20 days into 2016, but a continued celebration of all that is wonderful about the prospects of a new year is something I like to encourage.

The arrival of 2016 has me reflecting upon the ups and downs we've faced in what has turned into over 5 years of Blood Memory storyline development.  Each turning point, deterring or encouraging, has helped our team to stand more firmly and confidently today.  We are blessed to have been faced with both awakening challenges and beautiful experiences as we dove deeper into the content of this project, and we look forward to sharing more of those moments with you as we continue toward the film's completion.

In case you missed it...
We closed the production year with a quick trip to Phoenix, AZ to attend the oral argument hearing for A.D. v. Washburn - the Godlwater Institute's ICWA-related class action.  While there, two key representatives of the Goldwater Institute met with our team to discuss the case on camera: Clint Bolick, Vice President for Litigation and Mark Flatten, investigative journalist.

The trip also included a visit to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and a luncheon hosted by Casey Family Programs.

Our final moment of film-related bliss in 2015 came when Blood Memory was approved for fiscal sponsorship by the Independent Filmmaker Project of Minnesota (IFP MN).

Through this sponsorship, we are finally able to compete for production grants that require applicants to have non-profit organization status.  Blood Memory is also featured on the IFP MN website, where project supporters can make tax-deductible contributions at any time.

Over the next few months, we'll be working behind-the-scenes to prepare for a few major events this Spring, including the release of our first 30-minute sample of the film!

In the meantime, please let me know if you'd like to get involved in the development of this project.  We're always looking for helpful hands and hearts - especially from graphic artists. ;)

Cheers!
