This Month's Happenings

Our newly designed web site has been well received with several complimentary feedbacks. Please keep them coming we are looking constantly to improve and be focused on our collectors interests. You can also check us out on Facebook where we encourage you to post your art news, views and feedback. Our member at large has been out and about “sniffing” out the latest trends in the art world. He visited MoMa in New York for the “Transmission” exhibit.  An exploration of the radical experimentation in the 60’s and 70’s across Eastern Europe and Latin America. After spending an hour on a curated tour he got in the spirit of the themed  “circumventing the Western accounts of artistic mastery”  by helping a lady of some years hang her just completed work hang unauthorized next to the Museum’s traditional Masterpieces. The exhibit runs through January 3 and is well worth a visit.  This was followed by a visit to the International Fine Print Dealers Association Fair where he re-connected with many old friends.  The Fair was very well attended with red dots everywhere and prices on the rise. Collecting is alive and well. If you are looking for an affordable gift for this holiday, we have many unique small artworks available.

Event Focus

The Charles Furr’s retrospective at his Studio in Devon proved to be a great success. It was an intimate gathering of friends and collectors at what proved to be a beautiful day.  The retrospective celebrated his work from the earliest days in Mexico, onto Colorado, New Mexico, Italy, Greece and for the past twenty years in Devon. Several of his pieces are on show depicting the garden view from his Studio reflecting his approach throughout his career by portraying the pictorial while capturing the mood of the moment through impressionist techniques. Such techniques constantly innovating and experimenting over the years. The Retrospective remains open for private showings by appointment through the end of December. If you are interested to just visit or add to your collection, please contact us at gallery@toricollections.com or 610-745-1700.

Presented here his limited edition serigraph Afternoon Tea is a classic large piece of his work embellished by hand in vibrant colors that will add impact to any room or collection. We also have three other pieces which we can show on request.
