Well sleepy heads we have arrived at Monday. I had a lovely and restful Sunday with a nice rain shower to boot so no need to water today. In my humble opinion I think Sunday afternoons are just to best mini vacation there is; time for naps and movies and books and art projects. It’s the prefect way to catch your breath before jumping into another busy week.  Before things get too busy have a look at my class list and let me know which classes you would like to join.

Our art journal adventure starts with lovely beautiful paint, stenciling and a few other fun elements to make a gorgeous paged with a truthful message. New to art journaling, it’s not so hard. Think of it as a big card that’s too pretty to mail off, seriously it’s that easy!

Sad to say, we all need sympathy and encouragement cards. It’s a small thing for us but a very big thing for those that receive our cards. I call them mailable hugs. Just think how many times you needed to know someone cared and that lovely card showed up in your mailbox at just the right time. So do yourself a favor, make this card (or two) and have it ready for the next time.

As artists there are times when we long stretch our creative wings and fly. This colorful 8" x10" canvas reminds us that we already have all we need to succeed.  Mixed media canvas projects are fun to make and display in your home or perhaps you need a gift for someone special. While this project looks complicated it’s really very doable. After all it’s just a bit of paint, ink and paper, the same tools you use all the time.

Gelli Plate Workshop $15.00

By now I’m sure you have heard about the Gelli Plate, perhaps you even have one. It’s a clear polymer slab on which paint is applied with stencils and found objects, then paper is pressed into the paint and layers are repeated over and over to create one of a kind art prints. They are as much fun to make as use in cards, layouts, art journals and mixed media projects. Seriously it’s fun!

You will need a Gelli Plate and brayer to join this class; I have a couple to loan so let me know up front if you need to barrow a plate. Even if you have a Gelli Plate you know it’s more fun to play with friends. This class is limited to 6 people, so don’t delay.

A Banner Day Class $20.00

The banner trend in paper arts is still continuing and shows no sign of slowing down. And why should it? We love banners. In this class you will create four all occasion cards with lots of banners and stars. You know your card stash is getting a bit low, now’s the time to stock up. Also this class would make a wonderful gift idea. Just a thought!

Play Day ~Free~

You know those days, you need to get out of the house (because that’s where all the work is) and you have a couple projects you are dying to work on? 

Yep, you need a Play Day. Once a month I will host a Play Day where you have the time and space to work on your projects. Also get feedback and support on your project to nudge you passed the rough spots. We all have those, don’t we?  How much is a Play Day?  Nuttin’ honey, my thank you to my loyal paper arts friends. Spots are limited so don’t dally around and forget!  That would just be too sad.

We are going to be fearless and channel Julie Fie-Fan Balzer in this journal class to capture her vibrant sense of color and composition. There is a lot of color and design elements in this page, but with a few rules of good design this journal page will come together and you will be fearless!
