Suffering over your suffering? Time to let go.

Hello Monday! Our working week starts tomorrow, so I feel like today is Sunday! Happy to have some extra time for family and rest.

I was reflecting today on how Easter is so much more about family and rest than Chrissy, I find people really get into the spirit of family without so much angst, it's more relaxed and less painful than the built up tension of the year - don't you think? I touched on pain there, the meaning of Easter spiritually - which is all about the process of suffering and pain through to resurrection and freedom. Did you feel released yesterday or are you still suffering?

In my limited learnings of Buddhism, there is a lot spoken of suffering and as human beings we are born to suffer through birth, death, the busy monkey mind - the cycle of past karma playing out is known by Buddhists as everyday life - Samsara.  I see that as humans we can get caught up in the inertia of pain and unconsciously look at our suffering and then suffer over that!  I don't normally speak so directly on religion, being a spiritual person, not a religious person, but I do respect people's decision to use whatever tools that help them have a happy life. Easter is about Jesus' suffering and finding his rebirth in order to help humanity, this time has so many meanings and interpretations. For me, I know that suffering can be overwhelming and habitual.

This time of the year is an opportunity to respect whatever suffering we have been going through and not to judge it.  See that our life is full of suffering and happiness, a series of moments of experiences that guide us to be who are but most importantly how we respond to them, is up to us. This important point shapes and directs our decisions for the future.

This week try not to judge yourself and the pain or suffering you may be going through. I always look to see the learning from each situation (sometimes very hard I have to say) but it helps me not to suffer over the suffering - if that makes sense.  Remember too that what happens is impermanent, things will change.

Also when I'm feeling like that, I try and wear white and gold - it helps to lift the spirits (of course with some black is always fine ;)

Have a great wonderful week.

Love and light - Scarlett x
