Hello there!! We are officially in Holiday season. Which for some means rejoicing and celebrating, and for others means stress, headaches, and frenzy. For many it is a mixed bag.
How do you ride the ups and downs of the holiday season?
This is a a time to lean into your self care practices. For me this means making to sure to take a few minutes of each day to pause, come into the present moment, and check in with myself.
I usually start with doing a little body scan and seeing where I notice tension or dis-ease. And then I get curious about it. For example, right now I notice some discomfort in my neck and shoulders. And I notice that it goes away when I sit up straighter and look straight ahead. Huh, what good information! I must be looking down more than I realize, at my typing fingers, my massaging hands, my phone... So that makes it even more important for me to find ways to engage with myself and the world with my chest and heart open. See how that works?
And when I take a moment to check in with myself I also take a moment to see how I am doing with others. Do I have energy to give more? Or am I over extending myself? Am I being clear with my boundaries? Am I acting from a place of respect, love and compassion for both self and others? Or am I reacting from fear, hurt, or old patterns that no longer serve?
The Holidays are a tricky time.
We are often excited to see family and friends we haven't see in a while. And these people that we may love the most also often bring up our deepest wounds and old patterns. But the awesome thing is we have an opportunity to show up differently each time.
Our yesterday may inform our today, but it does not define it.
As you go through this Holiday season I invite you to give the gift of presence. Both to yourself and others. Take a few minutes each day to pause and come into the present moment. Be there for you so you can be the best you can be for others.
And a few other things of note:
1. Looking for gift ideas? We've got you covered with GIFT CERTIFICATES!
Most of us have enough stuff already. Why not give the gift of self care? And support a small local business while you are at it.
I recently switched to square appointments which makes purchasing and sending e gift cards super easy. You can choose to send your e gift card immediately to at a later date and gift card balances are all tracked electronically. Give your friends the gift of massage! https://squareup.com/gift/82NQ9ZHNE9HA6/order
2. You can also now book online!
I admit, I resisted switching to online booking for a while but I *think* I have been convinced. And if there is a bump or two in the road as I make this transition I hope you will be patient with me!
Square appointments should make both your life and my life easier, sending automated reminders about your upcoming appointments and saving me valuable time so I can spend more time doing what I really love, which is giving you the best massage I can.
If you ever have trouble or prefer scheduling the old way you can still call or text me at 843.284.3532
3. Holiday Schedule
I will be doing a bit of Holiday travel myself, leaving town from Sunday the 22nd to Sunday the 29th. But I will be here and available for massages around the New Year
4. I will be on call for a Birth!
A dear friend and client has asked me to be at her birth! I am incredibly honored and touched by this opportunity and hope you will work with me as I work with the unpredictability of birth. Her due date is February 3rd and so most likely I think the baby will come between January 17th and February 10th. What this means for you is that if you schedule an appointment during this time I will remind you that there is a small chance that I will have to cancel with little notice. If I have to cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice I will give you a $20 credit (the same as my cancelation fee for you) towards your next appointment.
Have a wonderful Holiday season and hope to see you soon!
