Introducing Grace

Grace graduated from high school last December and was invited to attend a pre-college course developed in partnership with CITAM Karen Church and Daystar University in Nairobi. The course ran for 16 weeks where she learned many life skills as well as computer and communication training. Since attending this course her confidence and focus has gone through the roof. We hope to enroll all of our future graduates in this program as well.

It’s been a privilege to watch Grace transform from a shy and insecure girl into a confident young lady. We’re so proud of her! She will begin college in a few weeks where she will be majoring in Hospitality and Tourism. She will also be an intern at First Love Kenya in our office and assist with tutoring the smaller children with homework. She truely believes that she has a bright future ahead of her.

I recently learned about a game called Dots. It is an app game for android phones, but I played one similar when I was a kid using pencil and paper. I actually play it sometimes with the kids when we are waiting for a doctor's appointment.
 
Since we are still in need of boosting our monthly financial support due to an increase in our health insurance cost and language tutoring, we would like to invite you to play yet another version of this classic game.
 
On the board to the left are green and pink dots. Each dot represents a needed MONTHLY DONATION amount. PINK DOTS represent completed donation pledges or increases over current support. GREEN DOTS represent monthly donation amounts that have yet to be filled. When all the dots have been turned from green to pink we’ll be fully supported.
