The 12 Hours of DISCO was established in 2011 and has been held on the 3rd weekend in May for the last 6 years. For 2017 we added the 24 hour option, moved the venue to a new location, then created a 99% single track course. We purchased a giant event tent to put right in the middle of it all, we filled the tent with good people, beer, music, and food and the Race Gods blessed us with a weekend of perfect weather for our weeks of hard work.
The DISCO is also the annual fundraiser for the Youth Employment Program. This year our goal it to fund a Yanmar sv08 Mini Excavator for our trail building program. It will be incorporated into our Outdoor School at the Salmon Hot Springs as well as into large scale trail construction projects on public lands around Salmon and Challis. While we do not have the machine yet we do allready have some sweet trail projects lined up for it like the 8 miles of New BLM single-track planned for the CDT (Continental Divide Trail) near Agency Creek in Idaho.
If you love the DISCO and you like what the YEP is doing in our community please consider making a small donation to our "gofundme" campaign to help us secure this equipment.
