Holiday Edition: The Gift of Education

ACCEL at Cañada College

Supporting adult-education students' transition to campus

With the support of our phenomenal counseling faculty, ACCEL is excited to bring career exploration and academic counseling workshops to the coast in the spring.  Our partners in Half Moon Bay and Pescadero are thrilled this initiative will expand students' horizons, and we'd like to extend a collective "thank you" to all who have shown their committment!

Interested in contributing to the coast but unsure about the time involved? Consider donating a new jacket or toy to be distributed for the holidays! For additional ideas on how to serve students at La Costa Adult School and Puente de la Costa Sur, click on the flier below for a comprehensive list of services and reach out when inspiration strikes!

ICYMI: Off-campus classes can be very effective. Case in point: Metropolitan Community College in Nebraska saw retention among adult learners leap from 42% to 74% upon launching a satellite campus. Several Cañada classes have been offered off-campus for many semesters, including ESL, CBOT, ECE, and HMSV. New initiatives for the community, whether a solo act or series, are welcome!

Sequoia Adult School shared its adult learners have a strong interest in honing their math skills. Cañada College students who would like to give back to the community by volunteering as math tutors can contact SAS Volunteer Coordinator Kara Rosenberg.
