Newsletter 2019

Yet, another season is done and dusted!

Every year brings the excitement in different phases, planning, acquiring of new areas and opportunities, marketing, planning the adventures, executing them and then, it all starts over again!

What makes it enjoyable and fun?

The diversity of animals, the chase, the different areas to explore, and you - the client!

Making new friends, sharing a campfire with old friends and the camaraderie on safari can not be matched in any other tourist destination or activity, the hunger and euphoria of this feeling is the driving force behind it all.

Thank you once again for all your support, friendship, business  through all these years, lets plan on making 2020 another success story !

We offered a wide selection of safaris during 2019. Our PH’s traveled wide across southern Africa to chase illusive trophies in their prime habitats.

This resulted in BAS taking 5 leopards in various locations, out of 5 hunts sold!

That is a record to be proud of!

We also have had 100% on elephant with 5 bulls taken in various locations in Southern Africa.

The best bull was taken by Dave Westrum in the Eastern Caprivi region of Namibia, with an ivory weight of just under 70pnds.

A few outstanding elephant bulls were taken in Eastern Limpopo free range, as well as some great buffalo.

As always we have taken a lot of monster buffalo bulls, dagga boys!

It seems the trophy quality just keep getting better each year, with both Perry Hardwick and Paul Meyer taking 47+” bulls! Besides the trophy sizes, our various buffalo hunts prove to be the ultimate adventure for the hunter traveling to Africa, and we  pride ourselves to offer a diverse exciting range of experiences.

Besides taking a beautiful elephant bull in SA, Bryant Littlefield also took an enormous crocodile, one of the biggest we ever took! Just under 15ft. This shy prehistoric predator gave us a few long days crawling on our bellies, but victory was sweet! Recovering this beast was another story, amongst plenty other crocs and a real upset hippo!

Another 2 kudu bulls in the 60” class was taken by Randy Romanoski and Paul Meyer, with a 47” sable bull taken by Perry Hardwick with crossbow. Gordie Hartman also took a 46’+ sable bull with crossbow.

A wide range of superb hippos, hyenas and mixed plains game as well as Big five animals were taken through the year by various clients, and we could not be more appreciative of your support.

A special thanks to Pat and Kevin Hogan of Rock Island Auction group for a great safari and many animals taken on your safari. Cannot wait to host you in the Caprivi next year on the culmination of Pat’s big five with a leopard hunt, amongst some others.

Uncle Bob McCulley will also try and finish his big five with the illusive leopard during 2020, and we hope we can get it done!

Pete Zeliff has also been a great supporter the last 2 years, and finished his big five this year with a great leopard in the Luangwa valley in Zambia

Bush Africa safaris will offer some exceptional free range buffalo, lion, and leopard in Zambia, in conjunction with our Zambian outfitter.

Once again we will offer a wide range of safaris across Africa with some superb plains game and outstanding sable, kudu, nyala, bushbuck, waterbuck, crocodile and roan antelope out of our main camp in the Limpopo Valley of South Africa.
