Dear Mayfair Family and Friends!
Hey there! We thought we'd drop a quick note to update you on a few things before the start of school. Just 19 more sleeps before the 2018-2019 school year begins. It's exciting! Please read through the following newsletter and let us know if you have any questions.

*Please note that these are not all of the events that may occur during this time. These are only the dates and times that we know of currently. All dates, events, and times are subject to change.

Please be aware that there is NO AFTERCARE on Early Dismissal Days. A list of these days is in the file below, on our website, and listed at the end of every parent newsletter. 

Extended Day Info

The entire school, K-8th grade, will be using ClassDojo for parent/teacher/student communication. Please make sure to download the app to your phone and have it ready to set up at orientation. You will receive more information about signing up from your child's teacher including a specific code to connect your child to your account. 

Please download and print the student information sheet attached. Fill out and bring to school during orientation. It is VERY important that we have a reliable, working email address that you check regularly. We primarily send out correspondence via email and wouldn't want you to miss anything!

It is very important that we know how your child will be going home every day. Fill out the form attached at the link below. Bring to school during orientation. Be aware that any change to dismissal information MUST be submitted in writing to the school office.

REMINDER:
We have reopened the School Store. Please make sure to order your child's uniforms by July 25 using the link below. Middle school PE uniforms are mandatory. 
 
You can also purchase purple or burgundy polo collar shirts at other stores and have them monogrammed (middle school requirement only) at Monogram It (located at 1669 Lobdell Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806).

TOMORROW!!
Join us for our second annual uniform resale in the Mayfair Auditorium, July 21st, 10am-2pm. School uniform tops and bottoms will be $2 each, $4 for Mayfair T-shirts and sweatshirts and $5 for backpacks and Middle School shirts. Cash and credit card ($1 per transaction fee) will be accepted.

Please make sure to check over the supply lists at the link below. Make note also if there is anything extra that needs to be purchased if you ordered from 1st Day School Supplies. 
 
Every student is also required to pay a $25 project fee. Some middle school courses require a fee that is listed in the Middle School Program of Studies. 
Be prepared to pay fees at orientation. Checks are to be made payable to Mayfair Lab School and separate checks must be used for each separate fee.

It is very imporatnt that we have an updated email address on file for everyone.
Visit bit.ly/mayfairemailupdate to update your email to a working, regularly checked one if needed, and you can also choose to remove another email address from our system at that link as well. 
 
Make sure to download our school app from the iTunes or Google Play store to stay up to date with all things Mayfair!

Welcome to Mayfair, new Kinder Families! We are excited about kindergarten this year! Orientation will be about 30-45 minutes on the morning of your student’s first day. Girls only will be on August 9th and boys only will be on August 10th. We will meet in the auditorium and get your student’s paperwork and go over a few things. Then we will go to their classroom and drop off supplies if you have them and say goodbye and we will start our first day!! It’s going to be a great year and your student is going to love Mayfair Lab School!

Middle school student schedules have been released. Please read the email VERY carefully as there is a lot of important information.
 
If your child is in middle school next year, and you did NOT receive an email, it is because
We didn't have an email address for you;
We didn't have an updated or accurate email address for you; 
There is an issue in JCampus; or
You have not dropped from your previous school and registered at Mayfair.
 
Please fill out the Email Update form at bit.ly/mayfairemailupdate and we will work on getting your child's schedule released!
 
f there is an issue in JCampus please know that we are working with the district to solve it.
 
If you received an email and your child is no longer attending Mayfair, there are instructions in the email about what to do.
 
During Middle School Orientation, you will be given an updated copy of your child's schedule with detailed information including room numbers and homeroom teacher name. 

ecoSTEM Corner
At Mayfair Lab School, we are focused on building a better future, not only through providing academically challenging subjects to our students, but also teaching about the world around us and how we can help create a long lasting, healthier future. 
 
ecoSTEM explores current and future environmental problems and excites students about the possibilities while empowering them to be the change.

Things to Note
There are a few dates of import that you will need to note, especially if you are using our Extended Day program. We will be reminding you of these dates every month. Please make note on your personal calendar.

Early Dismissal days end at 12:45. All students must have arranged transportation on these days, either carpool or bus because there is NO AFTERCARE offered on these days.
