The Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust and the Institute of Health Visitors working together to help diagnose

childhood cancer earlier.

We are delighted to announce the release of two new information packs in partnership with the Institude of Health Visiting, UK. One is for parents, and the other is for health visitors and other clinical workers.

These documents teach both parents and health visitors of the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer. Currently, it is the leading cause of non-accident related deaths of children in the UK.

With 1 in 500 children being diagnosed with cancer before the age of 15, it is more common than we think. Many children are diagnosed relatively late on in the illness due to a lack of awareness of the signs and symptoms of how a child may present. As such, we were keen to work with the Institute to produce documents that will help teach both parents and health visitors the sign and symptoms to look for.

Good Practice points for health visitors

This document (see link below) was written for health visitors as a teaching resource to highlight to them what they need to be looking for. It is a fully evidence based resource.
