Suggested activities for year 6 transition day

This carousel consists of 4 activities, with each expected to take 10-15 minutes hopefully. Each activity comes with instructions to enable students to be relatively self-sufficient (hopefully!). These will need adapting depending on the prior attainment of your intake. Please let me know what you think. Activities include 'make a die', 'pictograms', 'directed numbers codebreaker' and 'patterns and sequences'.

Problem Solving Lesson

This brief lesson is designed to lead students into thinking about how to solve mathematical problems. It features ideas of strategies to use, clear steps to follow and plenty of opportunities for discussion.

Follow it up with the new PixiMaths problem solving booklets.

Website of the Month: Access Maths

Access Maths is a website created to share and store maths resources and maths games for maths teachers. There are loads of resources here for all areas of the new GCSE and the revision resources in particular are fantastic. I'll be using a lot of them over the next few weeks!
