Our Biweekly Newsletter - 29 July 2016 Check out what we've been up to so far this month & what's coming up next! |

Thank you for visiting the shop and for bringing along your friends! |
Marionette Camp began at the shop Monday, July 25. Six budding puppeteers have been working with Master Puppeteer, Tom Bohrer, every morning since. Their creations are beginning to take shape, and each of the emerging marionettes is as unique as its maker. Their work will end next Friday, August 5, with a puppet show followed by a reception for the artists and our guests. And the artists' handlers and creators will eat something too! Join us from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mitzie Collins, Tom's wife, will be providing improvisational accompaniment to supplment the puppeteers final production! |
If you can't make it to the puppet show on Friday, come visit our table at the Arnett Block Party, Saturday, August 6, from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Tom and the puppeteers will be there with their creations, and they will re-present their puppet show for whomever stops by! (See below for more information about the Arnett Block Party.) |
The new marionettes will make another appearance at Gather at the Garden at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 350 Chili Avenue, Monday, August 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The garden is the Seeds of Faith Community Garden at St. Stephen's. If it's raining that evening, please step inside the church. And some of the marionettes will be present at the 19th Ward Porch Fest. Look for Tom and the puppets on the porch at 405 Wellington Avenue from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 14. Pictured to the left: Clippo the Clown is a vintage 1930s marionette from the T. Bohrer collection and is one of several puppets and marionettes that Tom brought to the shop this week to inspire his students. |
