SewGreen@Rochester & the Divine Designers at Wilson Magnet High School |
We are so excited to be working with a new generation of fashion designers - the Divine Designers - at Wilson Magnet High School! Many thanks to Jeffrey Sciortino, PTSO president, for inviting our shop to participate in Period 11, an afterschool arts & technology program for students interested in drama, dance, music, film-making, and our specialty, fashion design. |
We've been at the school every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon since April 12th, and will continue to be there through May 12th, encouraging the young designers as they draw their ideas, choose fabrics, and learn to construct their 2-dimensional vision in 3-dimensions. |
We are also grateful for our new volunteer, Tiffany Terry, who walked into our shop this past Monday, told us of her experience in fashion design, and has been working with us and our Divine Designers ever since! Thank you so much, Tiffany and Jeffrey! |

Our Novelty Yarn Smackdown Challenge Continues Come in, pick up a bag of our novelty yarn - at no charge - and create something. Anything! For free! If you need two or three bags, take them! In return, if you're willing, we'd like to display your creation - whenever you've completed it - in our shop windows for a few weeks. Kudos to Marian who brought in a knit shawl seven days after she chose her bag, and to Violet who sat in our shop and crocheted up a scarf in an hour with one skein! |

Every Saturday Continues to Be Scrappy Saturday at SewGreen@Rochester Help us reduce our inventory of scraps and 1-yard rolls of fabrics, and unmarked balls of yarn! Mondays through Fridays, the regular price for stuffing full one of our little cloth bags with any of these items is only $3. But on Scrappy Saturdays? The price is slashed to $1! If you bring your own grocery-size tote, our weekday price for stuffing that full is $10. On Scrappy Saturdays? Just $5! |
