Changes to The RAM Group
The RAM Group (ramgroup.info) is a collection of experts on some components of the Routines-Based Model. At the Meet the Team page, you can see who the current members are, but we will soon be adding new members. All prospective members complete the Comfort Around Routines Based on Needs (CARBON). This 35-item, four-point rating scale (not at all comfortable to very comfortable) helps me determine who should be a primary member versus an ancillary and who is confident in which practices. I’m still collecting CARBONs and will post all the new members at once.
After discussion among RAM Group members, we’ve decided to open up a community of practice for anyone interested in the Routines-Based Model. This will be a forum for the dissemination of materials, webinars, communication among community of practice members, and electronic mailings. More about this to come.
Demonstration Sites
Where can you see the Routines-Based Model in action? We need to compile a list of places that can show components of the model. I’m developing criteria for determining, as best I can, whether the practices are carried out with fidelity in these sites. If you would like to be a demonstration site, please get in touch. If you feel you need a booster shot from me or one of my associates, to get up to demonstration-site quality, we can help with that too.
Training Institutes
I have created the McWilliam Early Intervention Institute as the arm of Robin McWilliam Consulting and The RAM Group for dissemination and training (see robinmcwilliam3.wix.com/ram-group#!home-visit-training/wz9wo). This year, we will run both institutes.
The RBI Certification Institute will be conducted the last week in July at the Erikson Institute, in downtown Chicago. Thanks to Maria Kastanis for helping to organize this. I am accepting applications until March 31. Go to robinmcwilliam3.wix.com/ram-group#!rbi-certification/h8ku5 for details.
The Routines-Based Home Visit Training Course will be held in April, in Portland, ME. We have a full slate of participants and a wait list. Thanks to Roy Fowler and other staff with Maine’s Child Development Services, including the Director, Cindy Brown, for helping to organize this certification course.
