Grey is such an interesting color - a word that means somewhere between black and white, somewhere between 2 points. From a colour psychology perspective, grey is the colour of compromise, the closer grey gets to black, the more dramatic and mysterious it becomes. The closer it gets to silver or white, the more illuminating and lively it becomes.
Being both motionless and emotionless, grey is solid and stable, creating a sense of calm and composure, relief from a chaotic world. In the meaning of colours, grey is conservative on the one hand and elegant and formal on the other.
Grey conforms - it is conventional, dependable and practical. It is a colour of maturity and responsibility, associated with the grey hair of old age. It can be the stable base from which the new and positive can come, it has a steadying effect on other colours with which it comes into contact.
So sometimes we need to go back to base, to start from a grounded point of view, to recap, to rest, to reconsider, to reconstruct and to look at where you are for a moment. In that place of neutrality, we can reassess where we are without the impact of other people’s energy and external circumstances, we can find a little bit of clarity and insight. Yes, sometimes it’s okay to feel grey (and of course wear it!).
This week, find your piece of grey, your neutral space to discover something that will bring some clarity and inspiration in your life AND don't be afraid to wear some grey, there's plenty wonderful pieces around ;)
