Aches and niggles

20 June 2018

Some ideas for you to keep treating those aches and niggles between sessions.  Or even better.... arrange a TheraParty and stay in with friends!

Regular massage is so beneficial if you are dealing with physical discomfort but don't be disheartened if the aches, niggles and twinges return between sessions.  You are still using your body, after all!

To keep you feeling tip top between your massages do remember that I stock a great variety of muscle relief aids in my therapy room.

Epsom salt and Magnesium flakes are wonderful to add to your bath and help your body to assimilate Magnesium and also very beneficial to encourage the flow of positive hormones such as those gorgeous endorphins as well as dopamine and serotonin.  A great way to encourage a good night's sleep, too.

For deep, bruised-feeling aches Arnica cream is a must - also very well known for bruising of any sort.  For deeper pain and joint pain I am personally finding Jointace gel really, really beneficial - seems my hips are not keen on half marathons!  I also have spiky massage ball which are great to roll knotty muscles out on - especially if, like me, your dog always steals tennis balls!

And always a firm favourite, Rescue Remedy is a wonderful emotional support that can support you through tough times.  And then of course I stock a wide range of Neal's Yard Remedies products: shower gels, soaps, facial oils, hand creams and much more.  Always handy for a special gift!

So don't panic if you can't find Epsom salt locally or you're stuck for a gift - just pop in to my therapy room.

I am delighted that I will be taking my couch and my therapies to a hen do this weekend.  What better way to spend time together than with a TheraParty!

A get together is a great excuse for a TheraParty and this can offer a relaxing, fun and affordable alternative to a Spa day.  Great for hen parties, nights in, baby showers, birthday parties or just because.  Spoil and pamper yourselves with a treat within the comfort and relaxation of your home or venue.

I am available for Pamper Parties on Hayling Island and within 15 miles of Havant for between 4 and 10 guests.

£20 per guest for a 30 minute session.  Choose from:

 - Reiki

 - Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage

 - Express Thai Massage

 - Indian Head Massage

 - Holistic Facial Massage

Or double up and have an hour for £35.

All guests will also receive a small goodie bag of Neal's Yard Remedies samples to complete their session.

Get in touch with me to arrange a great day or evening in.  A 50% deposit per person will be required in advance to secure your booking.

Focus on.... massage for migraines

Believe me, I feel your pain! I have had migraines since my teens. And although when you are in the throes of one the last think you want is to be touched, massage is a great way to manage stress and relieve the tension that can contribute to migraines.

Research at The Touch Institute of the University of Miami School of Medicine has found that massage therapy can help to decrease the occurrence of headaches, sleep disturbances and stress symptoms while increasing levels of serotonin in adults with migraine headache.

Focus on... Change!

The menopause is something that all women will go through and homeopathy can be so helpful in managing the symptoms.  This time in a woman's life is all about change and should be seen as a new and exciting phase.  But that's difficult to do if the symptoms are making life hell.

So what is the menopause actually?

The menopause is a natural stage in a woman's life when the body begins to adapt to decline in ovarian activity. It is a time of transition and should not be seen as a disease.

Just as at the start of a woman's menstrual cycle the body is preparing for pregnancy and childbirth, at menopause the reproductive system is starting to wind down. And so the symptoms experienced during menopause are as a result of changes and slowing down in some hormone function.

Symptoms vary greatly from woman to woman as we are all individuals and we will transition through menopause in our own unique way. And this is where many find homeopathic treatment so beneficial as it will look at your individual symptoms and how you are experiencing them.
