Colorado ASTA Newsletter

February 2018

From Outgoing Colorado ASTA President Rebecca Jonas

Colorado ASTA Members,

I wanted to take a moment to address you one final time, and give you my heartfelt appreciation. I’ve enjoyed getting to know and work with you over the past several years. I’ve excitedly watched the state of string playing and teaching in Colorado continue to grow over the past few years. I’ve enjoyed learning from all of you, in conference sessions, conversations, and articles, and I’ve been thrilled to see us all become closer together as a string education community.

Thank you for all your support, all your hard work, and all your ideas and innovation that continue to help our organization thrive. I’m so excited to see what Alison and Loni have in store for us, and wish them the best of luck!

Welcome to Colorado ASTA's Newest Board Members and Opportunities to Get Involved With the Board

The Colorado ASTA board would like to welcome three new board members:

Loni Obluda, President-Elect

Chen Wu, Treasurer

Rachel Lavadie, Western Slope Representative

We are looking forward to having these three great string educators join our team!

There is currently an opening for Southern Representative (a teacher based in or around Colorado Springs). Please contact Alison Mayes if you are interested in getting involved. Responsibilities include attending monthly board meetings, attending general membership meetings (three per year), presiding at CMEA and Summer Conference sessions, and attending state events (Large Group Festival, CCAP, etc.) whenever possible.
