The inaugural Hockey Marathon was held in March 2015 in memory of two members of East Darwin Storm Hockey Club – who were tragically taken from us by very preventable incidents; and as a lasting legacy it was decided a living event that represented two significant causes (Beyond Blue & Road Safety Awareness) could help us remember, and more importantly have our junior member’s children in years to come, honour and raise funds for these causes that save Territory lives every year. In 2018, the event aims to raise further awareness and support of Territory organisations such as Teamhealth Teamhealth and Careflight who provide invaluable services to all Territorians.

Cupid’s Undie Run

is the largest community fundraising event for the Children’s Tumour Foundation (ctf).
The CTF is the only charity in Australia supporting children and their families with the genetic disease Neurofibromatosis (nf). NF is a progressive disorder that causes tumours to form on the nerve cells, including the brain and spine. There is no cure and effective treatment options are limited. We rely on the generosity and support of our local communities to fund research and support of people who suffer from NF.
Cupid’s is a brief run (1.5km) in undies (we are sponsored by BONDS) or costume (we encourage dressing up or down) to shine a spotlight on NF. It is estimated that NF occurs in 1 in 2,500 births, making it the most common genetic disease.
