The last full week of summer break for Pinellas County schools is here! Several library programs are on hiatus until after school starts back so be sure to call or check calendars before heading out.

Mommy & Me Yoga is back at Gulfport Public Library! Led by Bee Content Yoga, this free monthly program designed for babies ages six weeks to eighteen months and their caregivers begins at 10:15am. Want to get your older kids moving, too? At 4pm, try a Mini Monsters hoop dance class with Hoola Monsters at Sunken Gardens.

Wednesday, August 2

 

Get your summer movie fix while you can! It's the last week for specials at both Cobb Tyrone Luxury 10 and Regal Cinemas Park Place 16. This week's movie selections are Minions and The Secret Life of Pets for free and Storks and The Lego Batman Movie for $1. All movies start at 10am.  At 2:30pm, the St. Petersburg Main Library will be Under Construction with Professor DoDad and his science show about simple machines and construction science.

Thursday, August 3

 

Explore Weedon Island with your children ages six and up on a Weedon Walkabout. This free guided tour features a one to two mile hike through coastal mangrove and upland ecosystems and begins at 9am. In the afternoon, join St. Petersburg's North Community Library for Libraries Rock!, a free rock painting event for all ages.

Friday, August 4

 

Enjoy a special story time and painting event at Practically Pikasso this morning. Participants can paint pottery while listening to author Michalla Brianna read her inspirational children's book, Harold the Duck Learns to Fly. Cost is $15 per painter. At 7pm, make your way to Gulfport Public Library for a Family Magic Show with Cesar Domico.

Start your mini engines at Pro Karting Experience's Toddlerdega! Bring your kids ages two to six and their ride-in power wheels for teeny tiny racing fun from 9 am until 11am. Cost is $5 per driver and juice and snacks are provided. Is your little one interested in gymnastics? Registration for fall recreational gymnastics classes at Tampa Bay Turners opens at 3pm. After you register, stay and play! The pool is open for all ages and the gym is open for children ages 13 and under.
