McKamy Robotics Booster Club 2017-2018

Officer Nominations!

We need to fill our (4) MRBC Officer Positions to be a club in 2017-2018. You can self-nominate yourself or nominate someone else to any or all positions! See the March 9th MRC Newsletter with details on resources the club has in place now for our 501c3, information on each role and current officers welcome opportunity to talk/meet with prospective candidates.

• Positions: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
• Nominating Committee:  Thank you to the below members for volunteering to serve on the nominating committee in compliance with our bylaws!  Send your nominations to any of the committee members and they will reach out to the candidates to seek their interest.

• 2017-2018 Nominating Slate will be posted at least 5 days before the meetingfrom our Nominating Committee.

TSA State Competition Time Is Here!

Good Luck to all the student entries that advanced from Regional to State! Mr. Blalack will be checking in all advancing entries as our Advisor at the convention center. We wish the best to our 17 students and 2 robotics teams, Battlebotz and Starminatoz, from MRC that are traveling to Waco, TX this Thursday, April 6th thru Saturday, April 8th for the State Competition!!  Any questions:  Please contact Mr. Blalack @ blalackp@lisd.net or see him in room #1220!

April MRC Monthly Student Meeting

• When: Thursday, April 13th 4:15pm - 5:15pm
• Where:  McKamy Library
• Parents encouraged to attend.....TSA State Awards and Recognition will be done at the meeting!  Sure we will have lots to celebrate and entries will be showcased on tables!

McKamy Robotics Top MS Chapter!!

Our March 8th MRC Newsletter highlighted the incredible accomplishments by student at TSA Regionals held at FMHS on March 3rd & 4th!!  

At our March 23rd MRC Student Meeting, Mr. Blalack awarded all students their medals and ribbons for TSA Regional achievements. In addition, all MRC students receive their TSA certificate of membership.

McKamy Robotics Student Membership 2017-2018

• Returning 2017-2018 MRC Student Registration and Membership $100 Payment Due Date: April 24th by 4pm (online and payment in MRC lock box outside Mr. Blalack's room)
  • As in past years, all eligible returning students will have first membership renewal for 2017-2018 by this deadline! 
  • A link will be sent this week to all eligible current 6th and 7th grade members directly for online registration.

• New Member Interest Meeting: Wednesday, April 26th at 6:30pm in Robotics Lab
  • As in the past students will be leading the presentation, showing their robots and sharing their experiences.  Flyers will go up after McKamy 20th Anniversary Celebration.  MRC will be up on the stage in cafeteria demonstrating their robots and throwing some stars and cubes on the field during the 20th Anniversary as the first MS to have a robotics program (see your Parent Mentor for more information).  Tell all your friends!!
  • Membership will open online immediately following the meeting.
  • Maximum students for MRC is 60 with 2 parent mentors per team with 6 members on a team.
  • New Members Dues:  $75 One-Time Fee plus $100 Membership dues = $175
