Helping your child's independence using colors On this month's newsletter we will give you some ideas on how colors can be used at home to help your child to be more independent and organised. |

Colored drawers Get easy to open chest of drawers and color the drawers with your child's favorite colors. You can place in the drawers the child's mostly used items like toys, books, clothes,...etc. Place each item separately in a drawer so that the child links the color to the content of the drawer. In this way it will be easier and more fun for the child to help himself getting his/her things and tidying up! |

Colored routine clock With this routine clock, we find that everything gets complete and the evening runs smoothly. All you need is a simple clock and a frame. Give some thought into what you would like your evening to include:homework, playtime, dinner, family time, extra curricular activities, bathing, reading/bedtime stories, etc... Decide how much time you need for each activity then you can start coloring the inside of your clock. To make it easier for your children you can also add pictures beside the color codes for the activities to be done at that time. Because it is color coded, your little ones will have an easy time knowing what they need to get done, and when it is time to switch activities!. |

How to use plastic safely in your kitchen 1. If you do use plastic, stick to numbers 2, 4, and 5. Those are safest. 2. Never heat food in a plastic container in the microwave or pour hot food(especially liquid) into a plastic container. Even if it says “microwave safe” on it, it’s still going to leach chemicals. Microwave Safe simply means the container won’t warp in the heat. 3. This tip is especially for baby bottles or containers where you place your homemade and healthy baby food recipes. Whenever you can, use glass baby bottles, or plastic bottles that specifically say ''BPA-Free". 4. Never refill and reuse water plastic bottles. Safer choices include bottles crafted from HDPE (plastic #2), low-density polyethylene (plastic #4) or polypropylene (plastic #5). Aluminum bottles and stainless steel water bottles are also safe choices and can be reused repeatedly and eventually recycled. |
