On July 11th, the South Dakota Regiment will conduct its Annual 5 Mile Ruckmarch Assessment. The Colonel of Troops will personally lead those attending with the East River Squadron.

Locations to be announced.

Requirements: This will be a non-stop ruckmarch for 5 miles. Completion is required to remain a Member of the Regiment.

Equipment:

Full Uniform (patches and insignia optional for Recruits)
Boots
Headgear

Rifle or Shotgun
Load Bearing Equipment
Water in 2 each 1 quart canteens (minimum)
*Ammunition in magazines or clips as applicable to weapon
1 First aid kit
1 Firestarting kit
Knife
Poncho
Sleeping Bag
Weapon cleaning kit
1 pair of dry socks
1 pair work gloves
1 spare uniform or equivalent weight civilian clothes

**Optional Items:
**Medications
**Rations for duration of operation
**Compass
**Holster if also carrying handgun

* (210 rounds if carrying .223/5.56, 30-06, 308/7.62) appropriate weight if a lower caliber or 50 rounds if carrying a shotgun.

If carrying concealed, you will be asked to provide your Concealed Carry Permit at training. All laws will be obeyed.

Sunscreen is highly advised.
