oVc Chronicles - May 2015

Welcome Spring

It sure took its sweet time about it, but it looks like we finally have some decent riding weather; and if the number of people stopping by the shop is any indication, everyone is anxious to get back on the road. In this episode of the oVc Chronicles, we have an update on changes in the shop, updates on new models from Ural and Royal Enfield, and details on the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally.

News From the Shop

oVc is pleased to announce that we are now an official Genuine Stella Scooter dealer! Founded in Chicago, Stella is a very popular scooter reminiscent of the classic PX line of Vespas. Check our website for more information and details on when we will be receiving our first shipment for the showroom.

Unfortunately, we also have a bit of bad news - Mike Palmer, the guru of the Ural and master of the Royal Enfield - is pulling up stakes and moving back to his old stomping grounds in the Kingston area. Mike has helped usher in many changes in the three years that he has been part of oVc, and many of you have had the pleasure of meeting Mike as he worked on your bikes. Mike will be here until the end of June so please stop by and wish him well in the next few weeks.

While we will be soon saying good-bye to Mike, we are pleased to inform you that Kevin MacDonald has joined us as an apprentice mechanic. Kevin has completed his mechanic's course and is currently working towards his motorcycle technician license which he will complete later in the fall.

Meet Kevin MacDonald - the Newest Addition to the oVc Team!

In other news, we have partnered with Loans2Go to provide financing for anything we sell. If we sell it, you can finance it through Loans2Go.

The 2015 Royal Enfields Have Arrived!

It took a little longer than expected, but the 2015 Royal Enfields have finally arrived! Earlier this week, a massive transport truck arrived in our yard full of shipping crates. Each of the crates below contains a shiny new Royal Enfield anxiously awaiting its new owner.

Kevin and Mike will be uncrating the Royal Enfields over the next little while including two awesome Continental GT Cafe Racers that are not yet spoken for. So, if you've ever wanted your own authentic cafe racer, come in now before they're gone.

On a related note, we have just heard from our Ural representative. They have confirmed that paperwork glitches that have held our new rigs up at the border have been sorted out and we expect our 2015 Urals to arrive in the next few days as well! Looks like we will soon have a very crowded show room.

New Owners Corner

We've had the pleasure of helping several new owners find their perfect machine already this Spring. Here is a sampling of some of the most recent.

Christine enjoying a spin around the neighbourhood on her new Vespa!

Marek as he gets ready to pilot his lovely red Patrol home.

Sue taking her buddies for a little ride in her beautiful black patrol.

Irene aboard her sleek, new SYM Citycom 300i!

The Mad Bastard Scooter Rally

We'll close out this Edition of the oVc Chronicles with an update on the upcoming 2015 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally. The MBSR is set to kick off June 19 - 21 and is being held this year in the Guelph area and will, once again, feature a bizarre menagerie of costumed scooter enthusiasts terrorizing the roadways of another unsuspecting community.

It's all in good fun though, and proceeds of the event go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph. Ken will be piloting the "Green Bastard" - a Genuine Stella scooter with custom sidecar. You can donate to the cause by sponsoring Ken on his donation page. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters!

Please help Ken and the Green Bastard support Big Brothers Big Sisters in this year's Mad Bastard Scooter Rally

Until the next issue, please ride safely and if you're in the Acton area, be sure to stop in and say hi!
