Mirror Mirror on the Wall - tell me how do I REALLY lose weight?

Hello Week and good evening.  Not sure why I'm doing my newsletters on a Monday evening lately, but there must be a reason so I always try to go with the flow!  I don't know how many of you have heard of mirror work, but the wonderful Victoria was speaking to me about doing some. The process is to look into the mirror and ask yourself questions and see what answer pops up, or just the process of looking at yourself can be quite provocative for most. The confronting act of saying 'I love you' to yourself can be extremely difficult - go figure...

My thirst to find different ways to have a happy life (using our talents, our passions and through our fashion) made the mirror work an interesting exercise. When we look in the mirror, we see what?  We see our perception of ourselves, yes, it's through our own personal filter. It's made up of all our experiences, our values and beliefs we have accumulated over the years.  We all have filters.

I remember someone said to me when I was having a fat day, you've probably not put on weight, your feeling energetically heavy. Wow, never thought of that! So I did look at myself in my jeans and I hadn't put on weight, I just felt fat. Hence it brings me to my heading, how to do we REALLY lose weight, well I believe we have to start with how we see ourselves in the moment.  If things are heavy in your life, then I believe we may actually put on weight to protect ourselves energetically. Personally I know it's true, when I go on holiday and eat my way through the days (yum) AND don't put on weight, it's because I'm happy and stress free - stress is a big weight gainer.

I believe when we look in the mirror, we need to see what is REALLY happening. Do we need some nurturing? Generally yes, so throw on your fav T-shirt & Trackies with a good book or movie, do some yoga, walk, doodle, wear something to work that makes you feel comfortable but amazing - spend some time on doing what will make you feel good.

I went to a Yoga class in a place called Salturary in Five Dock on the weekend, they have a room that is built with Himalayan Salt bricks lit with lamps, salt all over the ground - it's soooo beautiful.  I've never done such a nurturing type of yoga for 90 mins, a combo of meditation and yoga, very soft moves where you almost go into a trance as you swing your body around and 'feel' what's happening. Breath in, breath out.  I realised I do so little to just be, without 'achieving' something - highly recommend the experience.

This week take some time to look in the mirror and say something to encourage yourself and nurture YOU.  Rather than thinking I need to lose weight or 'fix' something, look in the mirror and ask it 'what do I need? Your body will love you for it. PLUS when we do this, the world will respond in many other magical ways!

Have a great wonderful week.
